In a few years, there’s going to be a storm of Star Wars games. A recent report suggests that Disney wants a ton of SW -based games, and it has every intention of meeting that goal.

Tom Henderson, a prominent leaker, claimed yesterday that the entertainment conglomerate wants two Star Wars games every year, one smaller scoped project and a proper AAA game. The smaller project will be similar to mobile games or Star Wars: Squadrons, whereas the AAA game will be more like Fallen Order or Battlefront 2.

As of right now, Disney has confirmed eight upcoming Star Wars games; many don’t even have a release year or an actual title. Thankfully, a couple of them are close by and should launch in a few months.

Henderson made several more bold claims. He claimed that many more SW games aren’t announced yet and are currently in the pre-development phase. We should expect more announcements as the years go by. I just want a Mandalorian -based game, so Disney, make it happen.

All confirmed Star Wars games in development are mentioned below:

  • Amy Hennig’s Game – Skydance Media
  • Untitled FPS – Respawn Entertainment
  • Open World Game – Ubisoft Massive
  • Star Wars: Eclipse – Quantic Dream
  • Knights of the Old Republic Remake – Saber Interactive
  • Jedi: Survivor (Fallen Order sequel) – Respawn Entertainment
  • Star Wars: Hunters – Zynga
  • Untitled Strategy Game – Respawn Entertainment

Three of these are being developed by Respawn Entertainment, the creator of Titanfall and Apex Legends. Their last game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, received a positive reception from both fans and critics. Its sequel, SW Jedi: Survivor, is planned for next year and follows the story of the Jedi Cal Kestis.

EA losing exclusivity rights to the Star Wars IP is the best thing to happen to the iconic series. Several companies like Ubisoft, Quantic Dream, and Skydance Media are already developing new games. In the future, we should see some linear games, some open-world games, and some first-person shooters. Throw in some strategy games as well.

So, what do you think? Are you excited about more Star Wars games? Which one of the above-mentioned games do you want to play first? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
