The next round of details on Destiny’s upcoming April Update were released this week, during the second of three scheduled live stream events, but we hope you weren’t expecting an extensive collection of new gear for your favorite Guardian. More importantly, we hope you’re ready to look like every other Destiny player who chose the same class you did.

Last week, Bungie began spilling the beans on the contents of Destiny’s April Update, a massive patch that will introduce a variety of new content to the shared-world shooter. The studio outlined some of the changes we could expect to see in the Prison of Elders, confirmed the Light level cap would increase to 335 and promised new rewards for the retooled Strikes and end-game content that will appear in the April Update.

On Wednesday afternoon, Bungie dedicated the bulk of its latest live stream to previewing some of the new gear set to debut next month. Unfortunately, many of the new weapons and pieces of armor are just updated versions of Year One exotics. There is one new item set for each Guardian class, which make you look like a member of the Taken, but players’ ability to purchase chests that drop the new Desolate gear will undoubtedly impact the community’s desire to own it. There are also new set items for each of the Tower factions. Fans can also expect changes to the item fusion system, letting players use high level gear to create more-powerful versions of equipment they've outleveled.

For more details on what to expect from the April Update, set aside some time to watch Bungie’s latest hour-long Destiny live stream and/or take a few minutes to peruse the latest batch of uploads on the game’s Instagram page. Then head down to the comments section and let us know what you think of the April Update so far.

Destiny’s April Update is scheduled to go live on April 12.
