New information on Destiny’s April Update have been released by Bungie, in written form and via an hour-long live stream, including the first details on a brand new addition to the Prison of Elders and the next Strike mission from the Destiny dev team.

We still don’t know everything that’s coming in Destiny’s April Update but Bungie has confirmed a handful of new additions to the game. For starters, players will see the Light level cap raised to 335 and more powerful equipment added to the loot tables for the Court of Oryx, Heroic Strikes, Iron Banner, the King’s Fall Raid, Nightfall Strikes, Prison of Elders and Trials of Osiris. Some of those rewards will be revealed during an upcoming Bungie live stream, scheduled for March 30, but don’t be surprised if the studio decides to keep a few secrets for the April Update.

Next month’s patch will also revamp the Prison of Elders, introducing a new Level 41 version of the game’s take on the traditional Horde mode. The Destiny community can also look forward to the debut of a new mode, Challenge of the Elders, that features “scoring, weekly boss battles, gameplay twists, and rewards.” We also learned the Blighted Chalice Strike will focus on “a pretender to Oryx’s vacant throne” who must be dealt with before he becomes too powerful.

Next week, the developer will reveal some of the rewards Destiny players can earn in the April Update. In addition to revealing new exotics, the next round of disclosures should give us some idea of what to expect from the updated King’s Fall and Court of Oryx loot tables. Beginning next month, Bungie says normal King’s Fall runs will yield Light level 320 items (330 in Hard mode) and level 335 gear will be packed into Court of Oryx artifact drops.
