Bungie, the developer of Destiny 2, recently announced the return of Solstice of Heroes in a recent blog post. The free summer event will start on August 11 and includes the return of the European Aerial Zone area from 2019’s Solstice of Heroes event, armor, Eververse items, and new lo-fi beats.

The Solstice of Heroes event will start pretty similarly to the event Bungie hosted had last year. Players will receive a rare set of armor and they have to keep upgrading it by doing extremely tiring quests. Once players acquire their legendary gear from finishing the quests, they have to do another set of challenges to upgrade the gear to Majestic gear. The checklist for the final objective is given below:

  • Complete a Nightfall Ordeal on Master difficulty.
  • Complete a Nightmare Hunt.
  • Complete Pit of Heresy.
  • Win seven Trials of Osiris matches. (Not on a single Passage)
  • Complete a Tier 5 Altar of Sorrow three times.

After receiving the Majestic gear, players will get the option to buy a Universal Ornament set from Eververse using Bright Dust. This ornament will change color according to the subclass being used. For example: if you use an arc/void/fire class, you will get a blue/purple/orange glow effect on your armor set. The best part of the ornament is that it can be applied to any armor, making your character look flashy.

“One of our goals with the Solstice of Heroes armor was to improve the experience of earning over previous years. There won’t be any major armor updates, so once you earn your Majestic set it will be relevant up until next year’s event,” Bungie stated in the post. “The Elemental glows being made into Universal Ornaments will ensure you can use them on any of your high stat armor going forward.”

Bungie also added new lo-fi Destiny 2 audio tracks, which are pretty good. These new songs will automatically play after every crucible/raid match.

So, what are your thoughts on Bungie bringing back the Solstice of Heroes event? Do you think Bungie should have tried implementing something new instead? Whatever your thoughts may be, let us know in the comments below.
