Death Stranding Director’s Cut Launching September 24; Here’s Everything It Adds

Death Stranding: Director's Cut
Death Stranding: Director's Cut Sony PlayStation

Death Stranding is the first PS4-exclusive game that recently got a director’s cut treatment. It was followed by the Ghost of Tsushima. Unlike GOT, the new edition of Death Stranding doesn’t come with a new map. But it still brings tons of new content and features. This version of the game will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5 on September 24.

Improved Combat and New Weapons

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut will improve the core game and combat. The preorder trailer shown above revealed that the melee combat has been enhanced (THANK YOU!!!). A Maser Gun, which acts as a stun gun, is also introduced along with a Mounted Machine Gun. I don’t know why you will ever need a Mounted Machine Gun though. Anyone who has played the game knows what I am talking about.

New Delivery Support Systems and Firing Range

You can try these new weapons and more in the brand-new Firing Range. New delivery support systems will be present, including a Cargo Catapult, which you can use to throw your cargo over vast distances. We are assuming that your cargo won’t get destroyed or the catapult is useless. You can also equip a support skeleton or have a buddy bot carry your extra stuff. You can even take a ride on the buddy bot. A jump ramp will also be available for you to craft, making it easy to traverse those annoying gaps.

New Content

Players really liked the driving in Death Stranding. So, the Director’s Cut will contain a racing circuit called Fragile Circuit, which has different tracks and a leaderboard. Get ready to climb that ladder.

Of course, the most important additions are the new story missions, but we don’t know the details about them right now. I guess we will have to buy the game and find out.

That’s not all since the Director’s Cut will contain Half-Life and Cyberpunk 2077- related content that was released on PC. On top of that, you can also enjoy adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, 3D audio, reduced loading time, and other features from PS5.

You can get all of these for $49.99. However, if you already own a copy of Death Stranding, then you can upgrade it to the Director’s Cut for only $10. More information about it is mentioned over here.
