If you binge-watched Netflix’s Daredevil Season 2, it’s likely you missed most of Marvel’s Easter Eggs. There were references to the original comics, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and other Marvel franchises. Check out the list below for some of the Daredevil Season 2 Easter Eggs.

[Warning: Daredevil Season 2 spoilers ahead! We were purposely vague as to where you’ll see the Easter Eggs in order to not give away too many spoilers.]

1. The Jessica Jones connections

There are multiple connections to Jessica Jones in Daredevil Season 2. Some are obvious (like the name drop by Foggy’s ex-girlfriend), but most are inferred. For example, Claire talks to Foggy about the vigilante she helped after being shot in the head. In Jessica Jones , the titular heroine shoots fellow superhero Luke Cage in the head after Killgrave orders him to kill her. Then there’s Foggy’s job offer from Jeryn "Jeri" Hogarth at the end of the season, which means we’ll be seeing another character who knows both Daredevil and Jessica Jones outside of Claire.

Speaking of Claire, we saw her quit her job as a nurse after what happened at the hospital. I won’t spoil it for you, but the incident sets up Claire to become Night Nurse, who’s the equivalent to the Avengers’ Nick Fury for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. She’ll probably play are larger role in the series when Netflix eventually does a crossover special.

2. The comic book references

Two particular scenes are almost identical to the comic books. The first reference is the scene where Daredevil and Punisher meet for the first time. In the comics, Punisher chains Daredevil to a post with a gun to his hand. Punisher gives Daredevil the same ultimatum in the show as he did in the comics: kill me now or I’ll kill you. Punisher isn’t isn’t necessarily a villain in the series, but kills people to stop them from doing horrible things to others.

The second Easter Egg has to do with Elektra. We saw both Elektra and Punisher get their iconic weapons and gear by the end of the season, and basically come into their own. And then Elektra dies: stabbed in the chest just like she was in the comics. Don’t worry, Daredevil Season 2 won’t be the last time you Elektra in the series. If the show continues the comic book path, Stick and Daredevil will probably have to finish what the Hand started.

3. The Avengers references

Yes, there’s the vague verbal acknowledgement of “The Incident” that we can only assume refers to the destruction from Avengers: Age of Ultron . However, that’s not the only Avengers Easter Egg you’ll see. You’ll have to play close attention to the New York Bulletin front pages framed around the office. There’s mentions of the Hulk, Thor, and other Avengers characters on the walls. You’d have to be hardcore fan to catch these references, otherwise they’d look like your typical background decorations.

4. A new villain?

Daredevil might introduce another villain in the series some time in the near future. You know Melvin, the man who makes Daredevil’s armor and weapons? Melvin shows off the new armor prototype he’s been working on to Daredevil during one of their meetings. The armor is a similar design to the costume of Melvin’s alter ego, Gladiator. Gladiator is a villain, but the show might make him Daredevil’s right-hand man. Who knows?
