In a recent Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire episode, CD Projekt Red shared some interesting information on the gangs of Night City. If you didn't already know, Night City is Cyberpunk 2077's main district, consisting of smaller districts. There are a total of six districts in Night City, each with their own characters and dominant gangs. Players can interact with these gangs and accept quests from them, but they cannot join a gang themselves. These gangs remind of the empires in The Witcher games. During the livestream, the developer spoke sparsely about the gangs and it seems that each gang will have a unique characteristic that makes Night City what it is.

What''s more interesting about these gangs is that each one will have a specific fighting style and psychology. The locations in Cyberpunk 2077 are inspired by the popular table top role-playing game, therefore Night City is set in the alternate United States. For instance, the Japantown neighborhood is home to the Tyger Claws who boast exotic bikes, tattoos, and katanas. Similarly, the 6th Street Gang is comprised of a group of "old American patriots," who put up American flags and speak of their Second Amendment rights. The developer also mentioned other interesting gangs such as the Maelstorm gang that is obsessed with body modifications using cyberware. Likewise, the Voodoo Boys are said to be affluent in Net and magic. Just like the Maelstorm gang, the Animals gang is obsessed with body-building using cyberware. Another interesting gang is the Mox, which is a coalition of dancers and sex workers whose main task is to protect the working boys and girls. Finally, players will also encounter the two other territorial gangs called Valentinos and Wraiths.

With Cyberpunk 2077 approaching its release, CD Projekt Red is giving us glimpses of what we can expect. In the previous Night City Wire livestream, the dev also shared the Cyberpunk 2077 PC system requirements, and surprisingly, they aren't demanding either.

Cyberpunk 2077 is releasing on November 19 for PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Stadia. The game is also being developed for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
