ChinaJoy 2019 begins today, and with it comes a whole host of titles from China-based developers as the country’s biggest gaming expo runs the whole weekend. There are tons of games that are featured, so be sure to stick around for our coverage of everything announced at this event, especially seeing as China is starting to gain footing in video game development – and that means more great games for everyone.

There’s no shortage of intriguing titles presented here, with a lot of them being very unique renditions by a lot of relatively new studios. It’s also a good time to catch up on some of the more experienced developers alongside the projects from smaller studios. Developer NEXT Studio, who fans many know as the studio behind Bladed Fury. The developer released an announcement trailer for their newest game Biped, a physics-based co-op action platformer, set to be released for both the PlayStation 4 and the Switch. Check out the announcement trailer below and see what Biped is all about.

As much as I want to say that it looks fun, it’s also the kind of game where you’d end up getting frustrated to no end, especially if you and your co-op partner can’t get in sync. That said, the puzzles look very creative and quirky, and Biped has this very loveable charm that should resonate with a lot of co-op players looking for a challenging time with laidback and chill art direction.

Biped has you and a friend playing as two bipedal bots, Aku and Sila. The game features some very original challenges that places a lot of emphasis on teamwork. This is not the kind of game where one person can just do nothing and still finish the level – it’s pretty much adamant that there is no crossing the finish line without proper coordination. All of that said, I dig the art style and presentation a lot, and despite looking to be very challenging it should be good for a couple of hours’ worth of enjoyment with a good friend.

Biped will be released for the PS4 and Switch sometime this holiday season.

ChinaJoy 2019 will run from August 2, to August 5. Expect more coverage from us as soon as it drops.
