Esports team Cloud9 revealed that it has formed a full four-man team for Apex Legends. This marks yet another game that the organization already participates in. The new team is composed of some veterans from other esports.
The first member of the team is Jamison “PVPX” Moore, who had signed with the organization last February. He has been joined by Greg “Grego” McAllen, who was part of Cloud9's original Overwatch team. The two are joined by Justin “Chappie” Andrews and Joseph “Frexs” Sanchez, both of which are from Cloud9 as well, but competed in PUBG.
As an organization, Cloud9 participates in a wide range of esports tournaments that include PUBG, Overwatch, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Hearthstone, League of Legends, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Cloud9 had its beginnings when owner Jack Etienne bought the League of Legends roster from Quantic Gaming. Cloud9's success in League of Legends has allows the organization to expand and field teams in other esports. Its Heroes of the Storm team won the first championship back in 2015. The organization also has a CS:GO team, and was the first team from the U.S. to win a major championship. The Cloud9 team for Rocket League also won the Season 6 RLCS World Championship. Cloud9 is ranked 7 in terms of biggest esports organisations by social media following.
