In the game, players take on the role of an astronaut who has been sent into the void, filled with just gloom and darkness, to study its existence. However, the only way to see is by scanning the environment using the rangefinder device. The darkness is not empty as there are enemies lying in wait which can even hear players from their microphone.
Features of the game are:
- Scan the environment using the rangefinder to see in darkness and gloom.
- Terrifying enemies that listen, which are only seen via scanning.
- Find clues, solve puzzles, and advance to the next objectives.
- Microphone Input. When in hiding, the enemy can hear your breathing through your microphone. Just remember: don’t breathe, don’t panic.
- Find and upgrade the scanner to scan vertically, horizontally, increase the scan size, and more.
- Uncover the story of what happened inside The Voidness.
- Survival elements with full inventory system, objectives, clue-findings, and tools to help you in escaping.
- Find, uncover, and unravel the terrifying backstory of The Voidness within the darkness.
- Stamina System. It's going to be difficult to outrun enemies hiding in the dark because they never get tired.
- Save progress by finding save points and certain auto-saves.
- Puzzles to solve, mysteries to uncover. You have to use your mind to overcome obstacles.
- Find supplies, upgrades, health packs, and more items that are vital for survival.
- Hide from the enemies under tables and stay quiet as they can hear from the microphone even when you’re hiding.
- Gut Wrecking Moments:
- Walking on broken glass can make noises that the enemy may hear. It's the same as moving crates or knocking over objects.
- These things can give away your position.
- Stealth System: Try to sneak through terrifying enemies.
- Plan Accordingly:
- Plan the next move as it may be the last.
- Peak around corners, watch those footsteps, move slowly on glass, and use stealth.
