Call Of Duty: WWII beta leaks have revealed some fresh details about how Supply Drops and the Prestige system could work. According to findings from reddit user TwGNaywaoaLh, the system to acquire weapons draws inspiration from both Advanced Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered.

In contrast to Infinite Warfare’s Salvage system, WWII will seemingly focus on a new in-game currency called Armory Credits. These credits can be used to purchase crates that unlock the weapons that players prefer. Players have a specific amount of item slots, and once those fill, they need to be cleared. A deep look at the leaked strings suggest that items can be exchanged for XP or Armory Credits. In addition to item conversion, Armory Credits can also be earned by completing various daily and weekly challenges.

The short and positive answer here is that it seems this credit system will be fairly flexible with regard to letting players work towards only the types of weapons they’d like to get. Once players build enough credits, they simply have to purchase a few Armory Drops for the class of gun they’re looking for. There are eight different classes that range from SMG to sniper and more.

Additional crafting and Scorestreak content is available from the Gunsmith. The purpose of this store is fairly vague from this particular leak, but there appears to be lots of emphasis on Scorestreaks. It’s a place to test, customize and equip streaks while browsing Scorestreak loot. In other words, the maligned Scorestreak variant system will probably make its return. If you’re wondering what the Quartermaster is up to, he’ll be your main outlet for tiered Supply Drops. These are purchased with Armory Credits or CoD Points.

The leak also details how Prestiging works. The best players of Call Of Duty: WWII will be able to Prestige 10 times per class, which enables players to unlock a permanent slot in Class Creation to customize as they wish. Weapon levels, challenge progress and customization options will remain as normal, but the player will start over from Rank 1 and work their way back up.

In addition to the extra slot, Prestiged players will be given access to various Prestige Rewards that include the following:

  • A Class Token Refund
  • Hard Reset
  • Guaranteed Rewards
  • Gun Bench

In short, all the rewards players expect from reaching the highest rank seem to be part of WWII. What we’re most interested to learn more about is the Gun Bench. Will Prestiged players be given more freedom to craft and mess around with weapon variants than standard players? As long as the advantages aren’t stat-based, we’re all for it.

The major takeaway we’re getting from this leak is that Sledgehammer is at least trying to offer players plenty of choice when it comes to progressing through the game. Armory Credits seem like a very versatile income that can be earned in a variety of ways, but traditional Supply Drops are also there for those who wish to pay for them. The process to get what you want for free is a slight grind, but it doesn’t appear to be a terrible one.

The only things we’d suggest watching out for are the Armory Credit allotments and how the Gunsmith is used. While there are lots of ways to get credits, the yield for them has to be fairly high to be useful. We’re also slightly concerned that stat variants could find their way into the Gunsmith's crafting setup.

Call Of Duty: WWII comes to PS4, Xbox One and PC Nov. 3.
