The world is once again in peril, but the good news is that the gang's back in Overwatch 2. BlizzCon 2019 was a treat for fans as Blizzard showed a series of videos starting with a recap of what has been happening in Overwatch. After that, there was an announcement trailer for Overwatch 2 followed by a gameplay trailer.

You can watch the announcement trailer below:

So what's in store for players this time?

If you've been following the game, the story begins with the Omnic Crisis followed by the establishment of Overwatch. Later, there was the Fall of Overwatch followed by the Recall. Overwatch 2 is immediately after the Recall.

One thing that has the community excited is that any accomplishments and loot collected will be carried forward to Overwatch 2. This means players get to keep, among others, skins, player icons, sprays, and emotes.

New Look

Overwatch 2 evolves both the look and feel of the world by offering more dynamic environments along with larger scale battles. There are also going to be additional in-game storytelling events as well as improved atmospheric effects and shadows. It's not only that as the Heroes in Overwatch 2 get a brand-new look, one with higher fidelity and greater detail.

Co-op Missions

Overwatch 2 is going to offer four missions for players to complete. With your teammates, fight back against the Null Sector, stop the rising wave of new threats, and even discover the motives behind the omnic attacks.

The game also has replayable hero missions. A constantly escalating crisis has broken out around the world and players get the chance to encounter an ever-changing range of scenarios filled with diverse and dangerous enemies. Players can level up their heroes and unlock customization options.

Team vs Team

Overwatch 2 is introducing a new map type titled Push. In this map, players try to take control of a robot that is positioned in a central location. Either team can take control of this robot and push it to the enemy base. The team that pushes this robot furthest onto the enemy side wins the game.

Multiplayer is also going to get bigger with new locations being added like Toronto, Gothenburg, and Monte Carlo. New heroes are also going to be added to the roster, which is sure to shake things up in terms of competitive play while also opening up new opportunities for new strategies.

What do you think? Are you excited for Overwatch 2?
