The upcoming 35th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump will announce Monday that the Bleach manga will enter its “climax” in two chapters, according to Anime News Network.

The Bleach manga climax will be featured in the combined 36 and 37th issue of Shonen Jump, which will release on Aug. 8. However, as ANN points out, the issue doesn’t specifically say the upcoming chapter of Bleach will be its last but the word is printed as if it will be the final chapter.

A full color page opening will appear in the Aug. 8 issue of Shonen Jump.

In July, Weekly Shonen Jump revealed that the 74th Volume of the Bleach manga will be its last and that the manga will end in less than 10 weeks. The latest news does put the end within that range but it is still unclear whether the ending to the Bleach manga is closer than we expected.

We will update as soon as the next issue of Shonen Jump releases on Monday.

Bleach , created by Kubo Tite, entered its final arc in February 2012 as the Quincys infiltrated Soul Society and now threaten to destroy the world. This is also the arc where we learned more about Ichigo’s lineage and his connection to the Quincys.

The Bleach anime inspired by the manga ran 366 episodes from 2004 to 2012, with Viz Media obtaining the video and television rights in 2006. That’s when the Bleach anime began its English-dubbed run where it was a staple in Adult Swim’s programming from 2006 to 2014.

Bleach stood as one of the three pillars of Shonen Jump since its creation alongside One Piece and Naruto . While One Piece is still going strong over 800 chapters in, the original Naruto manga ended its run in 2015 and is now spinning off into a monthly manga featuring a new cast and a new artist.
