Black Desert is inviting everyone to experience a new kind of excitement with ice fishing. Making things even more exciting is that a “fwuzzy” alpaca is there to accompany you on your adventures. This has already started and ends January 12.
A Little Preparation
The Ice Fishing area is located at the Serene Spring in the Balenos Mountains. However, you can't just go there directly since you need fishing rods. Not just any fishing rods but special ones that can be used for ice fishing. To get these fishing rods, head over to Velia and talk to either NPC Crio or NPC Abelin. Doing so gives you the Splat Fisher's Fishing Rod.
Let's Go Fishing
To start ice fishing, just go to the Serene Spring and right-click on the rod. Once you get a bite, you now need to complete the mini-game. The mini-game lasts for 30 seconds and the goal is to keep the fish inside the blue gauge until its endurance eventually runs out.
There are four kinds of fishes to catch and they can be used for:
- Completing quests:
- [Event] Fatty Frosty Smelt
- [Event] Frosty Smelt
- [Event] Frosty Cherry Salmon
- Selling to an NPC Vendor for 10 million silver.
- [Event] Frosty Yvrug
The Fwuzzy Companion
Once you get the hang of ice fishing, you need to go back to Velia and talk again with Abelin. He’s going to give you the Special Family Quest titled "Fwuzzy" with the reward being a Fwuzzy Alpaca. To get this "fwuzzy" companion, you need to hand over the following to Abelin:

- [Event] Frosty Smelt x2
- [Event] Frosty Cherry Salmon x2
Weekly Quests
While Abelin has a quest to get an alpaca, Crio has these weekly quests:
