Battlefield 2042: Latest Update Brings Massive Changes to Hazard Zone

Season 5: New Dawn EA

Do you enjoy the Hazard Zone game mode in Battlefield 2042? Well, the developers implemented massive changes in the newly released Update 5.1.0. Read on to learn more.

What's New?

Before anything, Hazard Zone is a high-stakes multiplayer game mode in Battlefield 2042 where you and your squad attempt to retrieve data drives scattered all over the map. However, it's not going to be easy because you'll be fighting against other groups of players who have the same objective as you.

That said, the developers made some tweaks to improve the flow and overall gameplay experience. One of the major changes is that Hazard Zone Coins are removed from this game mode, along with the buy phase at the beginning of the round. Instead, you'll now be able to bring your normal loadouts into the Hazard Zone.

On top of that, you're now rewarded XP upon successful extraction. The amount of XP you gain depends on the number of data drives you and your team have collected.

The devs also added a feature called dynamic minimum player requirement. If there's not enough players joining the lobby in time, the player requirement to start a round will automatically be reduced to eight to start the game. This can drastically reduce wait times, so you can get right into the action.
