According to an official developer update on the the Anthem subreddit, BioWare will be delaying many of the feature additions and content releases it outlined in its Act 1 Calendar. Two of the many features being shelved for now are the highly-anticipated Cataclysm and player-run Guilds.

Anthem is looking to be one of the biggest let-downs of the year, especially since it was hyped to near God-tier gaming status in the months before its actual launch. With so much anticipation built up since it was first announced in 2017, Anthem was geared-up to be one of the best games of the year. Following a bug-addled launch, countless performance and stability issues, and the fact that it bricked PS4 consoles all over the world, it seemed like Anthem will have to fight for its life.

BioWare’s been hard at work trying to breathe life back into Anthem, and the gaming community appreciates it. However, with a declining player-base and many of the game’s core elements remaining broken and unattended to, the future for Anthem looks bleak indeed. Especially for the players who have held on this long, hoping that maybe the new content releases like Cataclysm, Guilds, Weekly Stronghold Challenges, and the Mastery System might make up for Anthem’s abysmal launch, are now inclined to leave the game, since those additions have been delayed.

Instead of sticking to schedule and bringing players the promised content releases and feature additions, BioWare has instead announced that it will be prioritizing fixing bugs, improving game stability, and enhancing the flow of the game. However, as many in the gaming community were quick to note, there has been no news on overhauling the loot system. While Anthem’s problems are almost countless at this point, one might expect that their first priority would be to overhaul their ridiculously broken loot system.

If you’re an Anthem player, we’d like to hear what you think? Are you disappointed in the direction the game’s taking now? Or do you prefer that devs fix the game before adding any more content that might possibly break the game even more? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
