The second free update for island life simulator Animal Crossing: New Horizons has just been announced and it’s a big one – adding fireworks shows, dreaming, and the long-awaited island backup service.

In a press release from Nintendo (via Businesswire), the developer detailed the update’s contents, starting off with the fireworks shows. Starting on the first Sunday of August up until the end of the month, players can enjoy atmospheric fireworks shows that will light up the sky above each player’s islands. The shows will take place at 7 PM. Festive items will also be up for sale in the plaza. These can be purchased using raffle tickets (which can be obtained by redeeming Bells). These items can be used to put your own personal flair on the fireworks display by using your own customized pattern and colors.

The next major addition is dreaming. Players can now choose to take a nap in any bed placed inside their homes. Accessing this feature requires an upgrade from a tent to a home. Once your avatar has dozed off, they may find themselves in a strange realm where they’ll be greeted by Luna. Luna will then offer them a chance to visit other islands as a dream. In this feature, the ability to share your island through dreams will be granted as well as what is called a “Dream Address”. Players can exchange addresses to visit each other’s islands. So, what happens inside a dream? Well, both everything and nothing. Players can explore to their heart’s content in a Dream Island and will leave the island intact with no changes, since nothing is saved.

Finally, Island Backup and Restoration service has now been added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Those who are subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online can enable this backup service. What this does is it automatically uploads your island and users’ save data to the internet at certain times. In the unfortunate event that your Switch is lost or damaged, players will be able to recover their island from its most recent backup. More details can be read regarding this feature once the update launches.

The update is set to go live on July 30. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is currently available to play for the Nintendo Switch.
