The Japanese launch of Yakuza 6 is quickly approaching and with it comes new details about gameplay . Yakuza series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi confirmed to IGN Yakuza 6 will have no loading screens.

Nagoshi explained to IGN developers worked hard to get “completely seamless” gameplay, where you can smoothly transition from one place to the next. PS4 users won’t see loading screens when they enter buildings, leave areas or even during cutscenes.

Unfortunately, the removal of loading screens meant trouble for developers on the PS3. Nagoshi confirmed the studio didn’t want to sacrifice quality in order to port the game to the PS3. To Nagoshi, giving the player freedom to play in a seamless world was more important than making the game available on the PS3.

“There is more action and more discovery,” he said. “For example, if you spot a building on fire in the distance, you could travel all the way to that building and rescue the occupants. Loading is problematic for lots of reasons, including its effect on the realism of the story — let’s say you have a 60-second countdown to reach a location and stop an explosion, but when loading screens come in, how do we account for those seconds? How do we keep the pressure on? So we really pushed to make it seamless this time. That’s where a lot of the budget went, and it’s also the reason we did not make a version for PS3.”

Speaking of freedom, ever wonder what it would be like to run a Japanese cat cafe? Well, Yakuza 6 is the game for you. Digital Trends reports Yakuza 6 will have a ridiculous lineup of side actives for players in their most ambitious game yet. One of those activities is running your own adorable cat cafe, which considerably is an upgrade to your Neko Atsume addiction.

Admit it, you’re totally checking to see if your cats have enough food right now. We see you, Tubbs. Get that silver fish!

The best part of running the cat cafes in Yakuza 6 is that you’ll actually have to rescue the cats on the street. Seriously, how could the developers ever consider setting the Yakuza series anywhere but Japan ?
