World of Warcraft is all set to launch its Shadowlands expansion next month. There’s going to be a lot of new changes arriving to the game. For example, developer Blizzard is releasing a pre-expansion patch that should help prepare everyone for the new adventure.

One big change that’s sure to excite everyone is for character customization. Some players already take a long time in creating their characters. With this new change, there’s a chance that’s it’s going to take even longer. Don’t believe us? According to Blizzard, a lot of the customization options won’t be dependent on other selections.

What does this mean? In the past, choosing a hair color, for example, would affect the color of facial tattoos. Hair color could even determine a character's eye color. The changes mean that players can now pick these independent of one another.

Before moving further to the character customization options, players are going to likely notice that the character creation screen is completely new. In addition, when selecting a class, the character displayed goes into action through a flashy animation which manages to showcase the essence of the class.

All races are going to get access to new character customization options like eye colors, hairstyles, and skin tones. Some races are also going to be allowed to improve their appearance beyond the basics with beards, scars, and tattoos. Players can even choose to customize the flowers in their hair.

Once everything is ready, players can then pick a name and start their adventure. A green checkmark means that name is available and a red cross means the name is already taken.

Let’s say you already started your adventure and want to make changes to your character. Not to worry as all you need to do is visit the Barber and customize your appearance again. Want something cool? At the barber you can also change your gender. How cool is that? Some classes can also make additional changes. Druids, for example, can now change their shapeshift appearances.

The Shadowlands expansion is set to be released on October 27 and introduces the realm of the dead to World of Warcraft. In addition to the new character customization choices mentioned in this article, this upcoming expansion is also completely overhauling the leveling system and adding the Death Knight class.

What are your thought on this? Are all these customization options a good addition to World of Warcraft? Will you change your character's appearance or keep it the same? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
