World of Warcraft Honors the Elders with Lunar Festival

For many, the Lunar New Year is about new beginnings. In World of Warcraft, there’s a different and altogether beginner reason. The thing is, Azeroth celebrates the Lunar Festival in order to honor the elders. Like any festival, there’s the feast and the fireworks.

The Lunar Festival actually started in Moonglade back on February 5. Don’t worry though since it’s set to run until February 19.

Light Up the Night Sky

To celebrate, players start with the introductory quest titled The Lunar Festival. To learn more about this event, players need to look for none other than the Lunar Festival Harbinger. The initial task is fireworks-related and players must get some Lunar Fireworks and Cluster Fireworks.

Once the Lunar Fireworks quest is completed, players should get their Lunar Festival Invitation. They then need to go to Moonglade and look for Valadar Starsong in Nighthaven.

Achievements

The Lunar Festival offers players 16 achievements along with one meta-achievement. These include:

• Elune’s Blessing:
  • Complete the Elune’s Blessing quest by defeating Omen.
• Frenzied Firecracker:
  • Shoot off 10 Festival Firecrackers in 30 seconds or less.
• Lunar Festival Finery:
  • Purchase a festive pant suit or festive dress with Coins of Ancestry.
• The Rocket’s Red Glare:
  • Shoot off 10 Red Rocket Clusters in 25 seconds or less.

There’s also what’s known as Coin of Ancestry. Five achievements will reward players with:

• One Coin of Ancestry
• Five Coins of Ancestry
• 10 Coins of Ancestry
• 25 Coins of Ancestry
• 50 Coins of Ancestry

Get your Goodies

Completing different events can lead Ancient Coins. These can be used to buy different items from Fariel Starsong and Valadar Starsong in Moonglade. Below are some of the goodies players can buy:
