World of Warcraft: February 6 Hotfix Greatly Buffs Frost and Blood DKs

Those who love playing Death Knights in World of Warcraft will be happy with the February 6 Hotfix. That’s because some of the abilities found in the Frost and Blood talent trees have been buffed considerably.

Let’s start with Frost DKs. One of the most significant changes in this update is that the Cleaving Strikes talent now makes Obliterate hit two additional targets instead of one. This is pretty huge, especially when you are ganged up in PvP. This change can also be felt when clearing mobs in raid dungeons.

Additionally, the duration of Unleashed Frenzy has increased from six to 10 seconds. This is more of a quality-of-life improvement that makes it easier for you to keep the maximum stacks up for longer periods.

How about Blood DKs? Well, the damage of Heart Strike, Blood Plague, and Blood Boil is increased by 15%. Death and Decay’s damage has increased by 20% as well.

    • Mistweaver:
    • Healing Sphere (PvP Talent) now triggers the dispel backlash effects from Unstable Affliction and Vampiric Touch. Healing increased by 320%.
  • Priest
    • Shadow:
    • Psyfiend (PvP Talent) healing reduction no longer stacks with similar effects.
  • Rogue
    • Assassination:
    • Vault Delver’s Toolkit 4-piece set bonus Bleed damage bonus reduced by 50% in PvP Combat.
  • Shaman
    • Restoration:
    • Damage dealt to Earthen Wall Totem caused by damage absorbed by pets is reduced by 90%.
  • Warlock
    • Affliction:
    • Unstable Affliction backlash damage increased by 35%.
    • Destruction:
    • Chaos Bolt damage increased by 40% in PvP Combat (was 15%).
    • Fixed an issue that caused Bane of Havoc (PvP Talent) to deal more damage than intended to targets.
    • Fel Fissure (PvP Talent) Healing reduction no longer stacks with similar effects.
