Anyway, back to young, naive Carl. He’s blinded by his anger towards his father. Carl disagrees with the way Rick handled the situation with Negan. Carl wants Rick to fight, but his father doesn’t believe that’s the best solution. Negan has left Alexandria defenseless with no guns or ammunition. Carl wants to take out Negan himself, something Rick would never approve of.
At least Carl isn’t going into Sanctuary alone. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly , Tom Payne teased what was to come during his character Jesus and Carl’s time at the Negan’s home base.
“There was a sneak preview on Talking Dead the other night where you see him jumping out of the back of the truck, so I guess you can figure out that him and Carl don't arrive at the same time at the Sanctuary,” Payne said. “So that will play out in the coming weeks, and the different ways that Jesus and Carl approach the Sanctuary is going to play out.”
Yeah, we wouldn’t be surprised if Carl manages to get himself caught. However, there’s a lost of potential for comic book fans to see some iconic scenes between Negan and Carl if he does get caught. Catch The Walking Dead Season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
