In a gory, battle-ridden new trailer for season 2 of Attack on Titan, we see familiar faces from the Attack on Titan manga, including the Beast Titan and Gluttonous Titan. Check out the new season 2 Attack on Titan trailer below:

Did you want lots of Titan battles? Because you’re going to get lots of Titan battles. I hate seeing innocent animals as casualties in any kind of media, but Attack on Titan starts off with the main character’s mom getting devoured in front of him, so there’s no hope for the horses. Or anyone, really. Chomp chomp.

Another stand-out in the trailer has to be Sasha picking up her arrow and standing her ground, reflecting the more serious Sasha subplot in the manga. And I loved seeing Ymir and Christa in a few little snippets, knowing how important they will be to the plot going forward.

Funimation will be simulcasting the episodes on April 1 as they premiere in Japan.

Attack on Titan became an instant hit since it first streamed in 2013 and we are thrilled to bring fans the long-awaited Season 2 of the series,” said Gen Fukunaga, CEO and founder of Funimation in a press release. “Attack on Titan is truly a worldwide phenomenon that has continued to grow at a non-stop pace. Fans can look forward to an exciting second season.”

Attack on Titan is one of those rare titles that has reached true cult status with anime fans,” said Mike DuBoise, EVP and COO of Funimation. “It’s been more than three years since the last episode of Attack on Titan Season 1 and passion from its fans has not waned. We look forward to premiering it on FunimationNow.”
