'Wasteland 3' Fig Campaign Launches, Is Already Over Half Funded

The Fig campaign for Wasteland 3 has launched, and it’s already over half-way funded. The post-apocalyptic RPG will serve as a direct sequel to critically acclaimed Wasteland 2.

The Fig campaign is looking to raise $2.75 million, but has already raised over $1.4 Million, 53 percent of the total goal. There are still 29 days left, so this game seems to be on track to secure its funding goal.

Because the crowdfunding campaign is on Steam, those looking to drop some big cash can also buy in as investors. There are 2,250 shares being offered at $1,000 a share. Assuming sales of Wasteland 3 match those of Wasteland 2 , it will be possible to actually make money off such an investment. More information on investing in Wasteland 3 can be found here.

“If a platform like Fig had existed back when we kickstarted the Wasteland 2 campaign, investors would have been very happy,” said Brian Fargo, CEO of inXile Entertainment, in a press statement. “We want to take our Wasteland franchise to a darker and brutal post-apocalyptic setting that builds on the foundation of Wasteland 2 . A game that is ambitious in reactivity and with new features like multi-player and the integration of vehicles into the world.”

If you’re looking to get a copy of the game at the lowest price, all early bird copies have sold out. You can still get in on a PC digital code for $33, less than the retail price. Those who want to play on PS4 or Xbox One will have to shell out more, with the minimum price of a console copy being $51. This will also give you a PC copy that you can give away to a friend or sell.

Of course, you can always add more money to get more rewards. Offerings for Wasteland 3 include a fancy physical edition, a Night Terror plushie, copies of additional games and more. The campaign will end on Nov. 3.

So what do you think? Will you be backing Wasteland 3 on Fig? Will you be springing for any of those fancy rewards? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
