War Thunder Update 2.07.0.118 has fixed some issues with aiming, crew damage with certain projectiles, and more. As usual, improvements are also included in this patch.

Rework of Hull Aiming

Some unusual vehicles in the game, like the German VT1-2, Swedish Strv 103-0, Strv 103A, and Strv 103C, will get rework on their hull aiming mechanics. This is to help them become potent in more combat situations.

The details were not outlined, but aiming while driving the German VT1-2, for example, should be much smoother now, even when you are on slopes or uneven terrain.

Crew Damage Changes

Certain projectiles can be stopped by any part of a vehicle, and this is due to the loss of stability of the projectile when penetrating various obstacles. When the stability of the projectile gets depleted, it will no longer deal damage.

While that is true for vehicle armors, that should not be the case for crew members inside the vehicles. What happened in previous game versions was crew members could stop projectiles from damaging them, even though this was not the intended design.

The issue has been resolved by the update. The projectiles that come from caliber and sub-caliber armor-piercing rounds should now damage crew members as intended. In other words, no crew members will have the ability to dissolve these projectiles anymore.

More Aiming Fixes

When you use enemy detection tools like thermal imagers, night-vision devices, and so on, you may have encountered a bug that may result in your total loss of control, especially when controlling your vehicle’s gun.

The devs have found the issue and fixed the nasty bug in the latest update.

Other Notable Improvements

There are plenty of bug fixes and improvements that were added in the latest update. Here are the highlights:

IMPROVEMENTS AND FIXES
  • Turn dynamics in 1st gear in AB has been improved. There’s now no switching to neutral with the speed drop.
  • A bug has been fixed that prevents the aiming block while using separate brake controls with the “Block vertical aiming while braking” function enabled.
  • Fixed a crash that sometimes happened from the main menu when opening the friends list or chats.
GROUND VEHICLES MODEL, DAMAGE MODEL, CHARACTERISTIC, AND WEAPONRY CHANGES
  • A bug has been fixed that resulted in incorrect values of armor penetration at different angles for the info cards of AP rounds.
  • A bug has been fixed with shell behavior after penetration of armor that in rare cases prevented damage to the crew after a direct hit from APCR/APFS rounds.
AIRCRAFT MODEL, DAMAGE MODEL, CHARACTERISTIC, AND WEAPONRY CHANGES
  • F9F-2: “Tiny Tim” rockets have been added.
  • S-13OF rockets: Weight has been adjusted from 66.6 to 69 kg.
FLEETS MODEL, DAMAGE MODEL, CHARACTERISTIC, AND WEAPONRY CHANGES
  • HMS Liverpool: Fixed a bug due to which torpedoes wouldn’t reload in arcade battles.
  • Type K-8 No.13, Type K-8 No.13 late: Fixed the name of the 76.2 mm gun.
