A new event in War Thunder celebrating the South African Armed Forces Day is now live. All players need to do is play three battles using British vehicles that are at least rank three with an activity of not less than 70%. If they're able to do this, they get the "South African Armed Forces Day" decal. This event ends February 24.
This limited-time event is based on what happened on February 21, 1917, the day when the SS Mendi sank in an accident in the English Channel. That vessel was transporting South African troops to take part in World War I; more than 600 of the troops died. In 2012, President Zuma chose that same day to honor the Armed Forces of South Africa. The day is celebrated with drills and parades.
During the event, players can buy the South African Armed Forces Day bundle from the Gaijin Store. It contains the Rooikat 105 Pack and Rooivalk Pack.
The Heavy Cruiser
Players looking for something new to add to their collection can look forward to the USS CA-134 Des Moines. It's going to be added to the game through an upcoming major update. To prepare, players can now pre-order the USS CA-134 Des Moines 1948 Pack which contains:
