AMC has renewed The Walking Dead for an eighth season. For comic book fans out there, this means we’ll probably get to see the All Out War storyline with Negan.

The Walking Dead Season 8 will premiere in fall 2017 with the show’s 100th episode.

“Eeny, meeny, miny, more,” said Charlie Collier, president of AMC, Sundance TV and AMC Studios in a news release. “What a joy to partner with Robert Kirkman, Scott M. Gimple and some of the hardest-working people in television to bring The Walking Dead to the fans. And, most important, thanks to those fans for breathing life into this remarkable series right along with us.”

Let’s take a trip down memory lane. Remember when we first saw Rick? He was waking up from a coma, only to find the world had gone to shit. There were dead bodies on the streets, corpses eating humans, and a little girl who was ready to chow down on Rick’s man parts. Rick’s first instinct was to go home, but his wife Lori and son Carl had long abandoned the residence. Rick knew Lori was alive because she took their family photos.

If it wasn’t for Glenn, the show wouldn’t have an eighth season. Rick was trapped in a tank, about to get swarmed by walkers when he hears a voice calling out to him through a walkie talkie. “Way to go, dumbass!” Glenn said. With Glenn’s help, Rick was able to get out of there safely and eventually reunite with his family. And Shane. Let’s not forget about Shane, one of the best The Walking Dead characters to ever be on the show. And Judith’s father. We all know Judith isn’t Rick’s daughter.

Fast-forward to The Walking Dead Season 7. We’ve seen Rick bite someone’s neck off, have the nastiest beard we’ve ever seen and have sex with Michonne. We’ve seen Rick go crazy, then come back down to reality. We’ve seen Rick go from leader to dictator back to leader, even though his decisions lately are questionable at best. And now someone’s going to die because of Rick. He’s come a long way from man waking up from coma to badass killer.

We can’t wait for The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere Oct. 23. What’s your favorite episode of season of The Walking Dead? Let us know in the comments below.
