Sonequa Martin-Green’s lead role on Star Trek: Discovery might actually mean her time on The Walking Dead Season 7 is coming to an end. Well, at least as a series regular anyway.

Entertainment Weekly recently asked Martin-Green, who plays Sasha on the show, what her role on Star Trek: Discovery means for her The Walking Dead character. Sasha is alive and well on the show, but we know that can easily change.

“Well, I can’t say anything,” Martin-Green told EW. “I can say that the story is as impactful and powerful and dynamic as it always has been, and there’s nothing to worry about where that’s concerned.”

Sasha doesn’t have a big role coming up in the All Out War storyline as she doesn’t exist in the comics. It’s not that fans wouldn’t be sad if she died, but she’s not a vital part of the story. There are parallels between Sasha and Abraham’s comic book interest post-Rosita, Holly.

In the comics, Holly is taken by Negan as a prisoner of war. Negan gets the information he needs out of Holly and returns her to Rick in a creative way. We won’t spoil it for you here, but we wouldn’t be surprised if Sasha takes over Holly’s storyline.

As far as The Walking Dead Showrunner Scott M. Gimple is concerned, Martin-Green can be on his show and Star Trek: Discovery so long as the schedules don’t conflict.

“Sonequa Martin-Green can do anything,” Gimple told EW. “I’ve seen her battle a horde of walkers this year while simultaneously battling a stomach flu that would have had most people crying in the dirt. She can fulfill the duties of a Lieutenant Commander on a Constitution-class starship whilst battling walkers, Saviors, and whatever gets in Sasha’s way. We’ve had to juggle before. I will certainly juggle for Star Trek any day of the week. Okay, maybe not on Sunday.”

Let’s not forget there was also a rumor claiming a certain someone might be returning to the show. This person may or may not have a connection to Sasha. Click here to find out who this mystery person is.

What do you think will happen to Sasha? Let us know in the comments below. The Walking Dead Season 7 returns to AMC on Feb. 12.
