‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Spoilers: Sasha Dies? Fans Worry For Character After ‘Star Trek’ Casting

Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays Sasha on The Walking Dead, was cast as the lead in Star Trek: Discovery series. Of course, just like you’d expect from the internet, people are overreacting to the news.

Seriously, a quick search of “Sasha dies” on Twitter and you’ll see what we’re talking about it. People are concerned that Martin’s casting in the Star Trek: Discovery TV series means her time on the show will come to an end very soon. This isn’t necessarily true. It just so happens that Star Trek: Discovery plans to film during The Walking Dead production’s off-season. Martin can easily be a part of both shows.

It’s not unheard of for The Walking Dead cast members to be part of other projects. Norman Reedus and Lauren Cohan have both done film projects. Reedus has another TV show with AMC called Ride with Norman Reedus and has done several movies while being on the show, including Triple 9 and Air . Cohan played the role of Martha Wayne in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and starred in the horror movie The Boy . Let’s not freak out every time an actor on The Walking Dead wants to do something other than slay zombies.

Still, it is possible Sasha might meet her end soon. In the comics, Abraham’s lady love Holly, whom he leaves Rosita for, is captured by The Saviors during the All Out War storyline and eventually killed. The show replaced Holly with Sasha, so they might give Martin the same fate in the show. Even if that’s the case, Holly wasn’t captured until well into the All Out War storyline, so we’d still have at least one more season with Sasha.

Anyway, when will people realize that it’s The Walking Dead and people die on the show all the time? We saw Glenn, Abraham, Spencer and Olivia leave in the first half of The Walking Dead Season 7. It wouldn’t be shocking to lose more characters in the second half. The Walking Dead Season 7 returns February 2017 to AMC.
