We saw Rick and Michonne hook up in The Walking Dead Season 6. It might be Daryl and Carol’s turn for some romance in The Walking Dead Season 7.

Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl on the show, recently spoke to the U.K.’s Daily Express about a possibility of his character having a romantic relationship with Carol. They definitely love one another and each will do anything for the other, but who knows if it’ll turn into something more.

"There's a definitely a spark of a relationship there," Reedus told the Express . "I can't tell you other stuff or if it's going to happen or if it has already happened though.”

Interesting. Well, fans have wanted someone to be with Daryl for a long time. The guy hasn’t had a romantic relationship with anyone in Rick’s group. In fact, Daryl hasn’t even flirted with anyone in the show or tried to have any kind of romantic relationship.

What if Daryl left behind someone he truly cared about prior to the zombie apocalypse? We doubt he was married, but Daryl could’ve had someone special. He could’ve watched that person die and had no desire to even be physical with someone else.

There’s also the possibility Daryl is gay, which is something fans have been speculating about for years. There are two gay men living in Alexandria together, Aaron and his partner Eric. They’ve also introduced another gay character in the show, Jesus. The show has yet to acknowledge Jesus’ sexuality on the show, but it’s established in the comic books.

Still, it would be nice to see Daryl have someone to lean on, especially after his encounter with Negan. Do you think Daryl and Carol should be romantically involved or are the better as friends? Let us know in the comments below. The Walking Dead Season 7 airs Sunday at 9 p.m. on AMC.
