Jeffrey Dean Morgan cleared the air regarding his latest comments about his The Walking Dead character. Morgan, who plays Negan on the show, was recently quoted by Den of Geek saying Negan will kill more than one person in The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere.

Morgan’s quote from the Den of Geek interview was as followed:

“Negan’s not just going to kill one person in [the premiere]... He’s not afraid of bashing in skulls.”

Well, Morgan now claims he was misquoted by Den of Geek. Morgan recently explained the context of his Den of Geek quote during an interview with Variety Latino.

“That’s not what I said," Morgan told Variety Latino. “I did an interview with this guy and I was talking about Negan’s arc and what he does in the course of being Negan on The Walking Dead. Instead of talking about the one person Negan kills—because Negan kills a lot more than one person on the lineup. And somehow he pieced that all together in such a way that it turned into the article that he wrote. It was to get people fired up. Negan does kill a lot of people in the next couple of years. Before we even meet him he’s killed a lot of people. Negan’s been around for a long time.”

The thing is Morgan didn’t deny there would be more than one death in The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere in his interview with Variety Latino. It’s possible Negan will use Lucille to kill two people in the premiere.

We think it’s likely Glenn and Abraham are the two Negan victims. Think about it. We know the Lucille victim is to Rick’s right. Daryl and Maggie are visibly weak and would be way too easy to kill. Negan wouldn’t kill off someone who couldn’t fight back. Michonne is too essential of a character to kill off right now and no one would really lose sleep over Rosita’s death. This leaves Abraham and Glenn, the healthy strong “right-hand” men.

We hope we’re wrong. The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere will air Oct. 23 on AMC.
