Michonne and Rick shippers may have their dream romance, but don’t think The Walking Dead Season 7 will shoot Cupid’s arrow at Daryl and Carol.
Melissa McBride explained to ComicBook.com Carol isn’t in a place where she can take care of anyone but herself. Carol is exhausted and "she's definitely got some healing to do in her mind and where she wants to be on this earth, or she wants to stick around or what,” according McBride.
We last saw an emotionally and physically wounded Carol with Morgan during The Walking Dead Season 6 finale . Carol was shot by a Savior after she killed his men. Carol was begged the group of Saviors to let her go and they refused her request. She opened fire on their vehicle and killed most of them. Carol didn’t want to kill them, but knew they would kill her if she didn’t take them out first.
"As the world is expanding, it's still closing in at the same time in a very weird way, but who knows," McBride told ComicBook.com. "I think she's just got to get her mind right before she can even entertain any sort of relationship. I think it's just difficult for her to have a relationship of any kind. Where we left off, if you care for somebody, you're going to have to kill for them, and again, she's just not sure she's in that place."
Sorry, that basically means no Carol and Daryl love scenes any times soon.
Carol has the most interesting character growth in the show. She’s gone from a mother who knew nothing but physical and emotional abuse from her husband to a resilient survivor. It wasn’t until Carol got to Alexandria that she had a moment to reflect on everything that happened to her. She started keeping a log of all the people she’d killed and realized if she stayed in Alexandria her body count would continue to grow.
