Like it or not, the deaths we saw in The Walking Dead Season 7 were exactly what the show needed. Just like in the comics, there was a clear divide of life before and after Negan. The action in the show is about to pick up in ways fans will really enjoy.

Let’s get this out of the way. Losing Abraham and Glenn was tough. Abraham went out in a blaze of glory by telling Negan to suck his nuts. We expected nothing less from Abraham . The Bisquick-loving redhead also showed Sasha, the woman he loves, she was the last thing to cross his mind before he died. You might’ve missed it, but he held up two fingers as he stared at Negan. Sasha and Abraham would throw up the peace sign as a secret signal to the other.

And then there was Glenn, trying desperately to say something to Maggie as his skull was partly bashed in. Maggie’s screams were heartbreaking, but at least she was with him in his final moments, even if they were in agony. However, some fans weren’t happy with the way things went down in The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere.

Yes, The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere was gross, bloody, brutal and didn’t need to take 20 minutes to show fans who died. The fact we had to see the deaths through Rick’s flashbacks took away from the moment. However, many people are missing the point of Negan’s introduction. Without Negan, Rick’s story ends in Alexandria. The group settles there and deals with the eventual threats. They barter with Hilltop and try to make a life for themselves. With Negan, the world is now open to introducing new communities and characters.

The Walking Dead Season 7 has the potential to revive the series, which hasn’t been very interesting in the past two seasons. Rick’s group has lost people, but for the most part the main characters always come away unharmed. Now, no one is safe and things will get much worse before Rick comes back to his senses. Don’t worry. This isn’t the last of Rick. There’s more action to come.
