Negan will not let anyone get in his way in the latest The Walking Dead Season 7 trailer. If you didn’t already hate Negan, you will now.

Negan doesn’t want followers, he wants worshippers. The trailer shows the Savoirs kneeling as Negan walks by. He boasts that he is “everywhere” and will take whatever he wants. Negan is unlike any threat Rick’s group has encountered before.

It’s strange to see a trailer for The Walking Dead that doesn’t focus on Rick Grimes . The first half of the Season 7 will focus on Negan’s rise to power and Rick’s lack of it. Rick learned the hard way violence doesn’t get you far when you don’t have the numbers to overthrow the tyrant.

That said, Jeffrey Dean Morgan killed it as Negan in The Walking Dead Season 6 finale. Morgan was excited to take on the role, but admitted it was tough stepping back into the character for Season 7. Morgan explained to Entertainment Weekly the Lucille death hit him really hard when he realized how close the cast and production team have become.

“It’s heavy, man. It’s a heavy deal,” Morgan told EW . “ It was heavy when we shot it last year and it’s only gotten more intense this year, I think. That first episode back was crazy. It was just crazy. What you’re asking of these actors to put it on the line like they do, and then this scene in particular, especially if they had the summer to dwell on it, it’s a lot. Then I go blowing in like a hurricane, just dance around on my tiptoes swinging Lucille around — it was 10 days of hell, I believe, for everyone involved.” Who do you think Negan will introduce to Lucille in The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere?
