Only two episodes left until The Walking Dead Season 7 finale, where fans will finally get to see Rick and Negan square off.

Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl on the show, told Entertainment Weekly the show will channel Braveheart in its finale. Reedus didn’t go into specifics, but hopefully he doesn’t mean someone in Rick’s crew gets their head chopped off. Hey, that’s what happened to William Wallace at the end of that movie, and it does seem like something the show would do.

“I was like, yes, let’s get back to it!” Reedus told EW . “It’s nice to finally let a window open up in this room and let some of this air out of here, and it’s nice to get some freedom and some dirt underneath your feet and start running towards killing [Negan].”

“It’s completely different than all the other ones,” Reedus added later, referring to the finale. “It has similar elements, but it’s completely different, and, you know, there might be a little William Wallace in it.”

At the end of Braveheart , everyone chants “Mercy” to end Wallace’s suffering. The executioner obliges the crowd’s request. This brings us to Sasha’s situation. We wonder if Negan will show Sasha mercy for trying to kill him. AMC released photos revealing Sasha was caught on the Saviors’ compound.

Reedus could also be referring to Rick pulling a William Wallace by rallying his troops into battle with an epic speech.

What we do know is there will be blood in The Walking Dead Season 7 finale. We anticipate many deaths and injuries, but Rick will be a lot closer in taking care of the Negan situation. Negan’s story is only beginning folks; he’s not going down without a fight.

The Walking Dead Season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
