Andrew Lincoln and Jeffrey Dean Morgan blew off some steam after The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere in an interesting way.

During an interview with ComicBook.com, Lincoln revealed how he got through the two weeks of filming Glenn and Abraham’s death scene. Turns out, director Greg Nicotero volunteered to be Lincoln and Morgan’s punching bag.

"Me and Jeffrey [Dean Morgan] got to hit Greg Nicotero in the head with Lucille, which was our payback for such a horrible endurance test that he put us through," Lincoln told ComicBook.com. "That is on film."

To make things a little sweeter, the crew filmed the scene and shared it with the cast. Hopefully they’ll release the video as a DVD extra for The Walking Dead Season 7.

"It was amazing," Lincoln said. "I said, 'Don't you ever put me through this again you son of a gun,' and then hit him with the bat."

Hitting Nicotero won’t bring back Glenn and Abraham, but we would’ve taken the chance to get back at the crew. Steven Yeun (Glenn) and Michael Cudlitz (Abraham) had known their character’s fates for two years prior to the Season 7 premiere. However, both actors are still mourning the loss of character.

Cudlitz told Entertainment Tonight he still isn’t ready to let go of Abraham, so he decided to keep his red hair and mustache until he’s ready to move on.

"I feel like it's a little respectful to the fans," Cudlitz told ET, refering to keeping Abraham’s signature look. "We're going to leave [the mustache] for a moment so that no one feels like I'm in such a rush to leave this character. It's like a mourning process that we all go through."

R.I.P. Glenn and Abraham. Man, losing them still hurts. The Walking Dead Season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC
