Good news for fans of The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. A new chapter is being introduced which continues the storyline of the original game. The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution is a new standalone game that everyone can enjoy.

The game is set in the unforgiving and infested remains of New Orleans and has players take on the role of the Tourist. Along the way, they meet new characters and face new threats while making choices that determine their fate.

In a statement, acting head of Skydance Interactive Chris Busse revealed that the past two years have been incredible, and they are grateful for the continued support from the community which has resulted in the game’s success. He went on to say that they are looking forward to players exploring new adventures in Chapter 2.

The Original Game

It was back on January 23, 2020, when The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners was first released on PC and Oculus Rift. After that, it was made available on PlayStation VR and Oculus Quest. Since then, it has breached $60 million in revenue and is praised for its engaging survival crafting system, visceral physics-based combat, and deep original storyline.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners takes place years after the outbreak. It's set in New Orleans, which is now submerged in flood. It's surrounded by herds of walkers and already torn apart by fighting between the remaining survivors.

While the game does have players fight against the undead, it's not all fighting. Players need to find a way to survive amidst all the violence, famine, and disease. Two ways to go about it are:

  • Scavenging
    • They say that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. For those who have a keen eye, there's a lot of treasure to go around from obvious gear like weapons and food. There are also items like bottles, toys, and egg timers, which can be used with a little creativity.
  • Crafting
    • Those who do not have must make. Anything that players can fit in their backpack can be broken down to its base components and built into greater tools later. Gather recipes to make weapons, ammo, and other supplies for the long journey ahead.
