Valorant: Update 3.07 Removes Penalties for Leaving Deathmatch Early

Riot Games has deployed a small patch for Valorant. Update 3.07 does not offer much but provides some interesting changes that you may want to know.

Deathmatch Penalties Removed

First, the developers have found that people use the game’s Deathmatch mode to practice their aim. For the uninitiated, the FFA Deathmatch is a mode where you will be pitted against nine players with no teams or abilities enabled. It is basically a free-for-all and whoever has the most kills in six minutes wins.

That said, the devs have found that many people do not complete the full round, and as a result, they incur penalties for leaving. But Update 3.07 fixes that as there will no longer be any penalties if you leave early. Of course, if you want to gain XP, you should complete the match.

Performance Improvement

Another notable change is that those using gaming mice with an 8000Hz polling rate can now enjoy them fully, thanks to the latest update. This is due to the new setting called “Raw Input Buffer” that improves the performance of input devices by changing the game’s APIs responsible for processing raw input.

While all peripherals receive a minor performance improvement, those using peripherals with higher polling rates may get the most advantage. Do keep in mind that winning in a game like Valorant still requires skill above anything else.

Agent Updates

Aside from gameplay and performance changes, there are some minor tweaks to Viper and Jett as well. For Viper, anyone who passes through or touches the highest portion of her wall will now be afflicted with instant decay. Further, the visuals of her smoke’s dissolving effect have been updated to match the visuals of the ability from the outside.

The change to Jett is not much, but those who want to get good will be happy to know that her Blade Storm kunai now recharges after killing a training dummy or defusing a practice bot. In other words, you can now practice with her knives as you please.
