The latest State of Play event from Sony gave the world a unique take on the Marvel universe and its comics as it was yet again adopted to a new video game known as "'Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls."
It is supposedly an arcade-style fighting game that centers heavily on a 4v4 tag team battle that will bring a massive team to brawl until the last character standing.
However, while it is already known to not be your typical arcade fighting game, it also brings in an additional twist to the experience as it will reportedly feature a "Final Boss" for players to face at the end of a certain part of the game.
'Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls': A Final Boss Is Coming
"Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls" has a whole lot more in store for gamers than was left out by the recent trailer, particularly as new leaks and speculations suggest a special experience for those looking to complete the game.
According to a Redditor called MasterOfKombat, the game's trailer holds a lot more information as to how the game would turn out, particularly as there will allegedly be a final boss coming for players to face off against.
This specific final boss is taken straight from the comics and is known by the moniker, "The Champion," with the character appearing as an easter egg in the game's NYC location.
The hint comes in the form of graffiti art which says, "Fear the Champion," and while this is not a direct or clear-cut confirmation of The Champion's arrival as the final boss, there is also another discovery from the trailer.
The "final stage," as the Redditor referred to, features a stadium where there is an audience who will watch the Marvel heroes and villains fight against each other. Here, there is a massive podium erected in the background which features an unusual design, and this is because the rock structure was modeled after The Champion's belt, similar to what the character wears in his comic book look.
Leaks Reveal New Info on Marvel's 4v4 Tag Team
According to ComicBook Gaming, the Redditor's speculation and leak are hinting to the possibility of The Champion joining the game, particularly as easter eggs like these are not added by accident. That being said, there are still no confirmations from its developer, Arc System Works, and publisher, Sony Interactive Entertainment, about a final boss as of writing.
It is important to note that while arcade-style 4v4 tag team games typically have a final boss, it remains unknown if this would be the same case for the upcoming "Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls." Other franchises like "Tekken" and "Street Fighter" have given players a final boss to fight against, with bits and pieces of the story appearing after every matchup to form the big picture.
