Valheim: Mistlands Steam

After nine months in development, Iron Gate Studio is proud to announce that Valheim: Mistlands is now available on Steam’s public beta branch. As is always the case with beta testing, players may encounter bugs that may hamper their gameplay experience. Be sure to report any issues so that they will be ironed out sooner than later.

Anyway, Valheim: Mistlands introduces the titular biome. According to Iron Gate Studio, the new biome will only generate in undiscovered areas. This means that those who have already explored most of their current world may have to start all over again to travel to Mistlands.

There are a few notable mechanics introduced here. The first is that eating foods containing Eitr allows players to use magic staves, a new weapon type lets them develop new Elemental Magic and Blood Magic abilities.

The second is the arrival of friendly and unfriendly NPCs. For the most part, NPCs are neutral and will generally treat players in a good way. But try to upset them and they’ll turn hostile!

Those who enjoy fishing in Valheim will be happy to know that there are new fish types added by Mistlands, such as the Trollfish, Giant Herring, Grouper, Anglerfish, and Pufferfish, among others.
