After Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, we saw Nathan Drake’s adventure come to an end, but not necessarily the end for the franchise. There are plenty of talented and mysterious thieves in the franchise and the Uncharted: The Lost Legacy expansion, the first standalone DLC of the series, will take us along an adventure with Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross in 2017.
Announced during PlayStation Experience this past weekend, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will have a familiar face returning from a few games ago. Via PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog Creative Director Shaun Escayg shared a detailed glimpse of what players can expect from the standalone DLC. In the trailer, we are re-introduced to Chloe Frazer, the main protagonist. As she makes her way to Nadine Ross (seen in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End) on the rooftops in an overrun city in India’s Western Ghats mountain range, it’s clear what kind of ride we’re in for.
Chloe Frazer, who made her first appearance in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves as a dark, charismatic thief that plays to Nathan Drake’s rebellious tendencies. Chloe also contrasts Elena, Nathan Drake’s moral compass, loyal sidekick and wife. Chloe is beautiful, but acts on more hardcore impulses and is a more riskier adventurer than Nathan.
We see Chloe’s personality clearly in the Lost Legacy trailer as she makes her way to the rendezvous point to meet Nadine. Chloe encounters a couple guards, which ultimately caused an angry Nadine to help her get out of trouble. Instead of thanking Nadine for coming to her aid, Chloe tells Nadine, “Oh you should relax. You’ll live longer.”
According to Escayg, what began as just an expansion became a “standalone story in the Uncharted universe. In Lost Legacy players will expect to find all the hallmarks of a full Uncharted title – cinematic storytelling, exotic destinations, insane combat and intricate puzzles. Lost Legacy “is our biggest story expansion to-date,” says Escayg.
Uncharted: Lost Legacy arrives in 2017 and will come as a download if you picked up the Uncharted 4 Digital Deluxe edition or the Explorer’s Pack. The Digital Deluxe Edition and Explorer’s Pack will only be available until Dec. 13, so players better act fast if they want to get a great value for Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
