PlayStation 4 players have a lot to look forward to in the coming months, as the first day of Tokyo Game Show 2019 held a lot of announcements and news for highly anticipated releases for the console like Death Stranding and Final Fantasy VII Remake. Publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Team Ninja have also announced that their upcoming action RPG Nioh 2 is set to launch sometime in early 2020 for the PlayStation 4. Nioh 2 has also received a new trailer at TGS 2019, which shows more of its gameplay, and features a number of the game’s terrifying new bosses. Check out the trailer below.

The original Nioh was great in terms of its boss design, but it looks like Team Ninja is kicking things up a notch with Nioh 2, which features even more ridiculous Yokai. A lot of the fights in the trailer feature the player character in some way or another being whaled on quite viciously by these bosses, and it’s this aspect that should draw more of the hardcore fans back.

In addition to the Yokai, the trailer also showed off some new Guardian Spirits which will ultimately aid the player in this journey through a fantasy Sengoku-era Japan.

Nioh 2 will be released for the PlayStation 4 some time in early 2020. You can find out more about the title in its latest posting on the PlayStation Blog here.
