"Tekken 8" enthusiasts had their worst nightmare come true. Bandai Namco released the official DLC trailer for Fahkumram, the hulking Muay Thai warrior of Thailand. Being the second character announced in Season 2's Character Pass, Fahkumram steps into the ring with electrifying new abilities, fiery visuals, and a history full of agony, betrayal, and revenge.
The Combo Breaker 2025 revelation to the Tekken cast drops on July 7, and by all accounts, he's going to be one of the series' most intimidating characters to date.
Fahkumram's Story: From National Hero to Human Weapon
Before being transformed into a living war machine, Fahkumram was a national hero and an unbeaten Muay Thai champion in Thailand. According to Bleeding Cool, his decision not to throw a match, however, at the behest of corrupt military authorities made him lose everything. The Thai military arrested him, keeping his wife and daughter hostage to make him their reluctant tool.
Amidst such unforgiving circumstances, Fahkumram joined the King of Iron Fist Tournament—not for fame, but as a pawn tasked with destroying the Mishima Zaibatsu. But since Heihachi Mishima's demise, the tournament had been halted temporarily.
Corruption and Conspiracy: The Mishima Connection
With the power of the world in the hands of Kazuya Mishima's G Corporation, the Iron Fist Tournament was reactivated. Everyone waited for Fahkumram to come back, except Fahkumram was not coming back.
Unbeknownst to all, Thai leaders had made a backroom deal with the Mishima Zaibatsu. They were bribed to keep Fahkumram on the sidelines and instead appointed Kuma as Southeast Asia's representative.
Enraged and betrayed, Fahkumram swore revenge. Not for revenge, but in defense of his family and to dismantle those who turned his life into weapons.
Fahkumram's Gameplay: Lightning-Powered Muay Thai Mayhem
Fahkumram isn't merely deep in the story, but his gameplay mechanics are crazy. His Muay Thai technique is combined with crushing lightning attacks, making his already savage elbows and knees deafening finishers. Towering in height, he resembles Tekken's response to Street Fighter's Sagat, if the latter was blessed with Thor's abilities and Rambo's fury.
With his screen-tearing combos to his cinematic Rage Arts, Fahkumram isn't a fighter: he's a storm in two legs.
Armor King is Another DLC Character
Bandai Namco didn't rest there. A second trailer hinted at the return of Armor King, set to release this Fall. Whether it's Armor King II or just a new one altogether is unknown, but even the hint was enough to get classic fans excited, according to Gematsu.
With two additional DLC characters remaining on the Season 2 Character Pass, rumors are already rampant about who else will enter the list.
