A silent assassin is making a return with the new trailer for Tekken 8 revealing none other than Nina Willaims. She was one of the fighters that appeared in the first game of the franchise.

As expected, Nina brings back her smooth and deadly fighting style inspired by different martial arts. Being a trained assassin, she joins the fight armed with weapons to beat her enemies in style. She also has a new appearance that truly reflects her being a killer for hire.

You can see what Nina offers in the video trailer below:

According to the development team of Tekken 8, they completely reworked the character model of Nina for new-generation platforms. In addition, her techniques and moves have been enhanced. She also has new abilities that fit in with the “aggressiveness” philosophy under the new combat system of the game.

She joins previously announced characters including Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, Jun Kazama, Paul Phoenix, Marshall Law, King, Jack-8, and Lars Alexandersson.

Developer Video

In addition to the Nina Willaims reveal trailer, a developer video was also released which featured Tekken Executive Director Katsuhiro Harada and Chief Director Kohei Ikeda (Nakatsu). The two shared details of different elements that compose the “aggressive” game play philosophy, and also provided a deeper look at enhancements to the combat system.

One of the changes was on the Rage System, first introduced in Tekken 6. In Tekken 8, when the health of a character drops to a certain level, the character immediately enters a "rage state" and gains attack power. It also gives access to a special move called "Rage Art." The gist is that the lower the health is, the more damage Rage Art gives.

Another feature mentioned is the new battle system known as "Heat." In essence, "Heat" is a period that is truly beneficial for an attacker. The character enters a state of enhancement and awakening for a certain time and can create a starting point for tactics as well as offensive actions.

You can learn more about what’s coming to the game through the new developer video.

Tekken 8 is going to be available exclusively on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. This upcoming addition to the Tekken franchise pushes the envelope of fighting games as it maximizes the power of the latest generation of consoles.
