Magazine perks in Fallout 4 can augment existing perks or provide all-new perks. If you need a list of the Wasteland’s magazines, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s a complete list of every magazine in Fallout 4, their location and what they do.

YOU’RE S.P.E.C.I.A.L

  • Gives you one skill point to allot anywhere you please. Located in the ruins of your own home in Sanctuary Hills, on the floor of Shaun's bedroom.

ASTOUNDINGLY AWESOME TALES (1–14)

Each issue of Astoundingly Awesome Tales has a different, unique perk.

  • Issue #1: Regenerate 1 point of Health per minute. Located in Outpost Zimonja on the workshop.

  • Issue #2: Do +5 percent damage with scoped weapons. Located in Skylanes Flight 1981, below the cockpit on the restroom toilet.

  • Issue # 3: Take 5 percent less damage from robots. Located in Boston Mayoral Shelter, in the bedroom on the lower level on a small table.

  • Issue #4: Do +5 percent damage with the Alien Blaster. Located in Dunwich Borers, below terminal #3 at the bottom of the pit, on a table by the steamer trunk.

  • Issue #5: Gain +5 Poison Resistance. Located in East Boston Preparatory School. Go to the southeast corner of the top floor, where you’ll find Issue #5 on a desk in the computer room.

  • Issue #6: Do +5 percent damage against Mirelurks. Located in Crater of Atom, on the top floor of the central metal shack that’s built into the rocks to the north.

  • Issue #7: Do +5 percent damage at night. Located in Sentinel Site, in the metal hut at the end of the tunnels that overlooks the big stockpile room.

  • Issue #8: Gain +5 Action Points. Located in Coast Guard Pier, on the toilet inside the locked cell next to the secured storage room.

  • Issue #9: Do +5 damage with the Cryolator. Located in The Institute, north of the atrium, on the outside balcony reachable via Holdren’s quarters. Check the triangular table.

  • Issue #10: Gain +5 Radiation Resistance. Located in Trinity Plaza on the east side of the church interior, on the lectern next to the steamer trunk.

  • Issue #11: RadAway heals +5 percent radiation damage. Located in Hubris Comics on the top floor in the “star” restroom, on a table next to the steamer trunk.

  • Issue #12: Your canine companion permanently takes 10 percent less damage. Located in Pickman Gallery, to the right of the steamer trunk in the last tunnel room where you meet Pickman himself.

  • Issue # 13: Do +5 percent damage against Ghouls. Located in Old North Church, inside Railroad HQ. Go to the brick crypt area and check the west portion of the room, on a metal desk.

  • Issue # 14: Do +5 percent damage against Super Mutants. In Park Street Station (Vault 114), in the living quarters area. Check on a container in the blocked corridor under the “Laundry” sign.

Grognak the Barbarian

Each issue of Grognak the Barbarian has the same identical perk: critical hits with unarmed and melee attacks permanently do +5% damage per magazine found, up to 10 magazines, or +50%.

  • Issue #1: Located in your old home in Sanctuary Hills, on the kitchen table.

  • Issue #2: Located in Wicked Shipping Fleet Lockup, at the east end of the main warehouse. Check the desk with the key in the small office there.

  • Issue #3: Located in Malden Middle School (Vault 75) on the bed inside the Overseer’s office on the top floor.

  • Issue #4: Located in Corvega Assembly Plant on the top floor of the assembly level, in the metal hut you reach via the catwalk bridge, by a steamer trunk.

  • Issue #5: Located in Vault 81. Given as a reward from Katy, the teacher, in return for completing Miscellaneous Quest: Short Stories in the Classroom.

  • Issue #6: Located in Museum of Witchcraft. Check on the table in the “dungeon” room on the upper floor, by the south wall of the building.

  • Issue #7: Located in Hyde Park, on the roof of the buildings in the raider camp towards the south.

  • Issue #8: Located in Back Street Apparel, in the devastated upstairs apartment on the living room table, near the TV and safe.

  • Issue #9: Located in Boston Common close to the Park Street Station entrance, in the enclosed shop area by the skeleton.

  • Issue #10: Located near Andrew Street Station, in the bus and apartment wreckage on the bed of the comic book fan’s apartment (the one the bus crashed into).

U.S. Covert Operations Manual

Each issue of U.S. Covert Operations Manual has the same identical perk: permanently more difficult to detect while sneaking per magazine found, up to 10 magazines.

  • Issue #1: Located in USAF Satellite Station Olivia, on the desk with the mini nuke inside the secured computer room.

  • Issue #2: Located in Lexington: Switchboard, in the executive office above the open office/double stairwell area. Check the desk by the terminal.

  • Issue #3: Located in National Guard Training Yard, on a table in the Barracks cafeteria by a cooler.

  • Issue #4: Located in Revere Satellite Array, in the hut on top of the central satellite support without the dish.

  • Issue #5: Located in Federal Ration Stockpile, on the main table in front of the sofa in Red Tourette’s base (in the southeast tunnels just near the exit).

  • Issue #6: Located in Fort Hagen Command Center, in the bedroom/kitchenette room east of the armory on the side table.

  • Issue #7: Located in Libertalia, on the main shanty ship. Check the red chair. It’s on the same level as the white metal window wall.

  • Issue #8: Located in Fort Strong, on General Brock’s desk on the ground floor (to the southwest).

  • Issue #9: Located in Abandoned Shack, in the deepest area of the Federal Survival Center. Check on top of the light blue computer bank by the steamer trunk and terminal.

  • Issue #10: Located in USS Constitution, inside the Captain’s cabin on a corner table.

Guns and Bullets

Each issue of Guns and Bullets has the same identical perk: ballistic weapons do +5% critical damage per magazine found, up to 10 magazines, or +50%.

  • Issue #1: Located in Fort Hagen, in the kitchen area to the southeast of the top floor. Check the oval table.

  • Issue #2: Located in Rook Family House, on a metal desk by the lantern and filing cabinet inside Barney’s bunker.

  • Issue #3: Located in South Boston Military Checkpoint, on a metal desk by the east wall.

  • Issue #4: Located in Gunners Plaza on the top floor lounge in the south mezzanine offices, on the table surrounded by couches.

  • Issue #5: Located in Quincy Ruins between the two big-rig trailers, on the desk with the terminal inside the elevated freeway Gunners camp.

  • Issue #6: Located in Cambridge Police Station only after Brotherhood reinforcements arrive, in a locked safe in the station chief’s office.

  • Issue #7: Located in Fraternal Post 115, on the lectern in the stage area where the sandbags and the American flag are.

  • Issue #8: Located in Ticonderoga Safehouse, in the northwest corner office on the top floor, on the desk.

  • Issue #9: Located in the BADTFL Regional Office, on a desk in the chief’s office, the big room to the west of the building.

  • Issue #10: Located in The Castle on the radio operator’s desk in the middle of the Castle grounds outdoors.

Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor

Each issue of Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor has the same identical perk: get better prices when buying from vendors, up to eight times.

  • Issue #1: Located in Walden Pond, inside the pipe tunnel’s interior cave, on a barrel next to the lantern.

  • Issue #2: Located in Mystic Pines, to the immediate north of the main entrance. Check the west wall inside the building on the sideboard table next to the TV.

  • Issue #3: Located in Super Duper Mart, to the right of the Milton General Hospital poster on the northwest wall, on the magazine stand.

  • Issue #4: Located in Longneck Lukowski’s Cannery, inside the metal catwalk hut with the Bobblehead in the northwest upper part of the big main cannery room.

  • Issue #5: Located in Big John’s Salvage, inside the caravan atop the containers on the small table with the lantern by the steamer trunk.

  • Issue #6: Located in Wreck of the FMS Northern Star on the north side of the ship, on the parasol table mid-deck on the upper level.

  • Issue #7: Located in Four Leaf Fishpacking Plant on the western side of the plant, on the bench in the basement locker room.

  • Issue #8: Located in Gwinnett Brewery, in the catwalk metal hut you can only reach via the pipes and catwalks along the northwest wall.

LIVE & LOVE

Each issue of LIVE & LOVE has a different, unique perk.

  • Issue #1: Companions gain +10 Health. Located in Fiddler’s Green Trailer Estates to the east, inside the caravan trailer.

  • Issue #2: Companions do +5% damage. Located in Revere Beach Station, inside the promenade building on upper floor. Check the concrete blocks by the cooking pot and steamer trunk.

  • Issue #3: Companions have +10 carry weight. Located in WRVR Broadcast Station. Check the table near the recording desk where the wall computer is at.

  • Issue #4: Gain +25%XP from persuading women. Located in College Square before going down the stairs at the station entrance’s interior, on the safe behind the counter.

  • Issue #5: Gain +1 Luck from alcohol when adventuring with a companion. Located atop the monument at Bunker Hill.

  • Issue #6: Companions gain +5 Damage Resistance and Energy Resistance. Located in Diamond City Schoolhouse, on the ground floor inside the Schoolhouse bedroom.

  • Issue #7: Gain +25% XP from persuading men. Located in Faneuil Hall, right after climbing the main staircase, on the attic level atop a small table.

  • Issue #8: Gain +5% XP while adventuring with a companion. Located in Goodneighbor, on top of the toilet in the Third Rail restroom.

  • Issue #9: Robot companions permanently inflict +5%damage. Located in Goodneighbor, to the right of the entrance on the bar counter in the lobby of Hotel Rexford.

Massachusetts Surgery

Each issue of Massachusetts Surgery has the same identical perk: permanently inflict +2% limb damage per magazine found, up to 9 magazines, or +18%.

  • Issue #1: Parsons State Insane Asylum. Lorenzo’s living quarters, bottom-most floor.

  • Issue #2: Medford Memorial Hospital. In the filing and storage room on the second floor.

  • Issue #3: Med-Tek Research. Check the large central laboratory table on the bottom-most floor of the sub-level where you find the Prevent.

  • Issue #4: Greater Mass Blood Clinic. In the secured lab analyst’s room on the desk.

  • Issue #5: Sandy Coves Convalescent Home. Behind the security door next to the wall of safes by the reception area.

  • Issue #6: Cambridge Polymer Labs. Check the desk inside the Director’s office just above the reception area.

  • Issue #7: Greenetech Genetics. On the north side of the building in the long room, on the table between two red sofas.

  • Issue #8: Boston Public Library. Can be purchased in the overdue book vending machine in the southeast area with 50 tokens via the terminal.

  • Issue #9: Cabot House. The top floor bedroom on the wooden desk.

Tesla Science

Each issue of Tesla Science has the same identical perk: energy weapons permanently inflict +5% critical damage per magazine found, up to 9 magazines, or +45%.

  • Issue #1: Arcjet Systems CEO’s office on the second floor by his terminal.

  • Issue #2: Mahkra Fishpacking, bottommost floor on a small table in the northeast corner.

  • Issue #3: Reeb Marina, on the wooden bench in the kitchen of the warehouse.

  • Issue #4: Rocky Cave (Virgil’s Laboratory), left of Virgil’s terminal on a broken refrigerator.

  • Issue #5: Poseidon Energy, on the metal desk with the Bobblehead in the metal catwalk hut in the center.

  • Issue #6: HalluciGen, Inc, in the Weaponization research lab in the northeast corner of the first floor.

  • Issue #7: Mass Fusion Building, on the computer bank in the southeast mezzanine room.

  • Issue #8: General Atomics Factory, in the upper floor office, on a metal desk against the east wall (immediately above the entrance lobby.

  • Issue #9: University Point: Top floor, northern computer room via the open curtains.

Tumblers Today

Each issue of Tumblers Today has the same identical perk: gain a bonus to lockpicking, up to five times.

  • Issue #1: Malden Center, in the Raider camp inside one of the cargo carriages deep inside.

  • Issue #2: Poseidon Energy Turbine #18-F, in the metal control room in the northwest corner.

  • Issue #3: Easy City Downs, in the commentator’s area on the racetrack’s southwest side, next to the black sofa on a side chest.

  • Issue #4: West Roxbury Station, in the eastern platform maintenance room, in the open locker.

  • Issue #5: Fens Street Sewer, next to the holotape on the metal drawers in the “cell” area.

Unstoppable

Each issue of Unstoppable has the same identical perk: permanently gain +1% chance of avoiding all damage from an attack per magazine found, up to 5 magazines, or +5%.

  • Issue #1: Westing Estate: Shack by the river.

  • Issue #2: Shaw High School: Lower level library office to the north of the building..

  • Issue #3: Suffolk County Charter School: Library room on the upper floor.

  • Issue #4: Hubris Comics: On the shop counter in front of the cheeky monkey.

  • Issue #5: D.B. Technical High School: In the basement level swimming pool by the northwest corner wall.

Wasteland Survival Guide (1–9)

Each issue of Wasteland Survival Guide has a different, unique perk, except for Issues #4 and #5 (see “Other Magazines” section below).

  • Issue #1: Ranger Cabin: On sideboard table.

  • Issue #2: Gorski Cabin: In underground bunker by the terminal, on metal desk.

  • Issue #3: Sunshine Tidings Co-op: In the locked cabin next to the silos, on the floor.

  • Issue #6: Crater House: Crater’s western side, on the lower level of a stilt-foundation shack by the caps stash.

  • Issue #7: Nahant Oceanological Society: ground floor in the entrance room area on a metal desk.

  • Issue #8: Egret Tours Marina: On the counter of the diner/coolant recharge station.

  • Issue #9: Wreck of the USS Riptide: Under the bridge on the water’s level, inside the ship on a table.

Other Magazines

These magazines don’t offer perks, but instead unlock bonus content.

  • Hot Rodder: Unlocks up to three custom paint jobs for your Power Armor. Located in Robotics Disposal Ground in the concrete hut, in Atom Cats Garage in Zeke’s trailer’s bedside table, and in West Roxbury: Parking Lot Funhouse in the top floor sleeping quarters in the parking lot to the west of the hospital.

  • La Coiffe: Unlocks up to two hairstyles. Located in Fallon’s Department Store in the upper floor room by the steamer trunk (west side of the building, check near the roof exit) as well as in Charlestown Laundry on a shopping basket on top of a washing machine.

  • Picket Fences: Unlocks new items to construct at settlement workshops: new statues (Saugus Ironworks Blast Furnace area), picket fencing (Weston Water Treatment Plant, the metal office that overlooks the generator room) high-tech light (Beantown Brewery in the foreman’s concrete wall office on the upper walkways), potted plants (Hardware Town’s upstairs office in the center of the building), or patio furniture (on the Combat Zone near the bar in front of the main stage).

  • RobCo FUN!: unlocks up to four Holotape games. #1 is inside the cafeteria terminal in Vault 111 (just the holotape), #2 is in the Museum of Freedom on Surges’ desk, #3 is in Fort Hagen Command Center right next to Kellogg’s Terminal, #4 is on a desk inside Valentine’s Detective Agency in Diamond City, and #5 is in the Memory Den in Goodneighbor, in the basement memory lounger area.

  • Taboo Tattoos: Unlocks up to five different tattoos. #1 is in Thicket Excavations in the metal trailer to the south, #2 is in Concord Civic Access in the scavenger’s sleeping area to the west by the exit stairs, #3 is in Irish Pride Industries Shipyard interior inside the docked ship on the metal bench, #4 is in Vault 81 inside Horatio’s barber’s shop in the main atrium area, and #5 is in mass Pike Tunnel West and East close to the power armor station in the southern central interior tunnels by a skeletal corpse.

  • Total Hack: Unlocks the ability to hack Protectrons (Wildwood Cemetery, under the central tree), spotlights (Wattz Consumer Electronics basement server room), and turrets (The Shamrock Taphouse, being held by the female mannequin in the game room).

  • Wasteland Survival Guide Issue #4: Unlocks new decoration items for your settlements. Located in Lynn Woods, inside the main shack on the sleeping bag.

  • Wasteland Survival guide Issue #5: Old Gullet Sinkhole permanently marks Diamond City on your map.
