Entertainment Weekly just posted a bunch of new images from Game of Thrones Season 6. While many hit on plot points already revealed in the trailer, one image brings into focus the role Daenerys of House Targaryen – the First of Her Name, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the first Men, Lady Regnant of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, Mother of Dragons – will have as a Dothraki prisoner.

Chained and laboring with other Dothraki women, it seems Daenerys has found herself at the bottom of a very patriarchal totem pole. The EW caption sheds a little more light:

The Breaker of Chains, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), is once again in bondage herself after she's captured by a Dothraki clan. Daenerys discovers that the nomadic tribe has certain rules for the former wives of fallen clan leaders.”

When captured by the khalasar at the end of Game of Thrones Season 5, Daenerys didn’t have many options, except deciding whether or not to reveal her identity. Could name-dropping Khal Drogo keep her alive among the most dangerous tribes of Essos? Or would it be safer to try and blend in, becoming an anonymous prisoner?

We now have an answer. While we don’t know the exact nature of a Hhal widow’s role in Dothraki society, it seems Daenerys has at least been acknowledged as such by the khalasar that’s captured her.

Here are some of the other photos from the EW spread, none of which reveal anything radically new about the condition of other characters.

Game of Thrones Season 6 returns to HBO on April 24.
