Rumors that Season 6 of American Horror Story may feature a Slender Man theme have quickly been refuted. Us Weekly claimed Wednesday that those behind American Horror Story were working to acquire rights to Slender Man script to adapt for the show. But E! News now reports that the character based on the 2009 Internet meme won’t be apart of executive producer, Ryan Murphy’s anthology.

Details about the next season will likely be announced in March, an unnamed source told E! News. There are reportedly clues to the season 6 already laid out in previous seasons. However, American Horror Story executive John Landgraf did tell Moviepilot last week that the season would be set primarily in the present, but would address two time periods, much like American Horror Story: Asylum was based in the present as well as in the mid-1960s.

AHS stars expected to return for season 6 include Angela Bassett. Murphy told E! News that he has already divulged to Bassett her role. She was reportedly shocked by the details. Murphy has also said he’s asked Lady Gaga to return, but she has not yet committed to the season due to conflicts with her touring schedule.
