With the r elease date of RWBY Volume 3 being revealed, the official panel for the Rooster Teeth animated series held a packed house of fans with the familiar faces and voices of the RWBY cast.

The panelists consisted of Lindsay Jones (Ruby), Barbara Dunkelman (Yang), RWBY co-writer Miles Luna who also voices Jean, RWBY director Kerry Shawcross and Rooster Teeth producer Gray Haddock who also voices Torchwick.

The panelists began by retelling the fans of the Oct. 24 release date for RWBY Volume 3 and should be released on the Rooster Teeth website by 1 pm ET.

But the panelists also took a moment to thank the audience and fans for their patience as they “sorted” things out. Of course, they are talking about the sudden death of series creator Monty Oum and how to go about moving forward.

And talks quickly turned to how Screw Attack is partnering with Rooster Teeth to bring Death Battle featuring Yang against Tifa Lockheart from Final Fantasy and you can check out the preview video below.

Luna and Haddock also revealed that Rooster Teeth are planning to bring more content in the future. They are in talks with Federator and are looking to create a new 2D show.

Haddock then talked about the international distribution of the first volume of RWBY. Warner Bros. International are handling the distribution and the Rooster Teeth crew gushed over how the first volume of RWBY will debut theatrically in Tokyo.

Blu Ray/DVD will come out in Japan on Nov. 14. The Japanese voice cast has already been revealed and Haddock would say later on, how the voice actor who was chosen to play Torchwick was the man who he grew up with.

Warner Bros. is also handling merchandise which fans should see tee-shirts, tapestries, pillows and more especially in the Rooster Teeth store.

The RWBY Japan Twitter account was mentioned for fans to get more information regarding the International release of Volume 1 amongst other things like “things you read right to left.”

Miles Luna teased a possible manga adaptation of RWBY but not much else was said so stay tuned.

There was a World of Remnant video played that explained why the Vyten Festival Tournament exists and what it means to the different Kingdoms and the Hunters. This is one of four World of Remnant videos that will be in RWBY Volume 3.

From what we know of Volume 3, the Tournament will play a huge role in the season and Kerry Shawcross said it was hard trying to figure who fights who.

After the video was shown, the panelists talked about the RWBY video game that was being tossed around. And the first details are that it will be a four-player co-op hack and slash game that will likely be on Steam.

Miles Luna told the audience to go to the Steam website and vote for the RWBY video game to be published on Steam through the Greenlight project . Beginning Oct. 14, the RWBY game will be available to vote for on Steam, so go and vote.

The RWBY video game is described as a mix of Dynasty Warriors and with elements of Left 4 Dead gameplay. The original voice cast will be starring in the game with a new villain and story.

The panelists joked about how the voice cast had to read lines provided by the video game team and that sometimes they weren’t the greatest. One example given was how one of Blake’s lines in the game was going to be simply “Meow” and the team had to nix it.

Each member of RWBY will play differently with their own abilities and fighting styles like Blake playing stealthy and catlike. From the screenshots shown of the game, the art style is very similar if not exactly the same as the series.

The RWBY panel then revealed that the first two episodes will be released on Oct. 24 but the third episode of Volume 3 wouldn’t come out on time because of an Extra Life Charity Stream with the RWBY cast and crew.

During the stream, the RWBY crew will take Q&As about the first two episodes and perhaps even what’s to come.

Kerry admitted that because of the nature of the break between episode 2 and 3, that episode 2 will end on a big cliffhanger that was originally not intended so he apologized in advance.

Stills from the first episode were shown and Luna revealed that even now the animation team is polishing up the first two episodes only a few weeks before release. The scripts for the entire season is complete and principle animation is almost done.

The animation team for Rooster Teeth actually jumped from the end of Red vs Blue to RWBY after a short break. So it’s been almost non-stop for the team.

Each episode will be 12 minutes (give or take) with some being longer. Concept art for episodes 7 and 8 have started while animation on episode 5 is wrapping up. The team will continue to work on the season even when it premieres.

RWBY Volume 3 is slated to end at the end of January and the panel was shown an extended clip of the one Volume 3 fight that was released earlier in the day.

If you haven’t seen it, check it out below.

The fan Q&A section was next and here are the quick notes of what was asked:

Will there be a Let’s Play of the RWBY game when it comes out?

Absolutely

Will there be a RWBY RPG-style game?

Miles Luna: “There’s always talks, but we have a lot on our plate already.”

Anime Inspirations for RWBY?

Dragon Ball Z and Hunter X Hunter were named. Kerry sort of joked that Super Smash Bros. was a big influence on the Tournament in this season.

Will Penny return?

Kerry Shawcross: “Watch Volume 3”
