Stellaris officially released a new species pack that introduces the Lithoids, a race of sapient rocks. The new pack offers completely new gameplay while also giving players a selection of new rock-based species portraits and ship models. The Lithoids Species Pack is available for $7.99 on Windows, Mac, and Linux.

The Lithoids Species Pack features Lithoids, a species type made up entirely of sapient rocks. This species eats minerals as a form of sustenance and live long lives. In addition, because of what they're made of, they can colonize almost any environment in the galaxy. With this new species, players get a chance to try out a new play style. Using Lithoids means you focus on mineral production. Players can also colonize even the most marginal of planets. In addition, the Lithoids are also a race that refuse to give up even an inch of their empire.
