A new season is set to begin in Star Trek Online this May 9. Titled "Unraveled," it has players go on a humanitarian scientific mission with Captain Kuumaarke in an effort to stabilize the Na'kuhl sun. The mission is interrupted by the discovery of a trans-dimensional Reality Vortex that's disrupting space-time across the multiverse. A conflict with the Tholians ensues, revealing that the vortices are a result of the constant use of time and dimensional travel. What's surprising is that players may be partly to blame.
This new story arc sees the return of Kipleigh Brown to the game who reprises her role as Captain Kuumaarke. It's time to discover what's behind the Reality Vortices and save the multiverse.
Star Trek Online Unraveled includes:
- New Episode – Wish Upon a Star

R&D and Junior Officer Week
While there's no word when Unraveled will arrive on consoles, PlayStation and Xbox players can enjoy the return of the Research and Development Week, from May 2 to May 9.
For Captains looking specifically for extra help with their projects, they'll be happy to know that all R&D packs give out an extra 25% of the items they currently disperse for the duration of this event. Meanwhile, R&D Material Reward Packages (Normal, Advanced and Elite) reward players with 25% more R&D Materials and have a chance to reward a Catalyst.
Meanwhile, Captains who want to advance through Research and Development schools as fast as possible should look for Harvest Nodes, located in mission maps throughout the game. These disperse two extra R&D Materials each time they are used and reward 10 Dilithium Ore.
